I wanted to share with you a story about a man called Tim Chapman who came to watch his beloved Barnes RFC watch us play Blackheath recently.
Tim was Captain of Barnes Harrodians back in the late 50’s/early 60’s and is now 86, he lives near Blackheath and so was keen to come to the game.
I was contacted by his son Jim and we were delighted to meet him at the game. It has not had a good year, losing his wife and having a knee replaced but is now up and this was a brilliant outing for him, Dave Doonan presented him with Barnes RFC and Dave and Marty Conway looked after him on the day.
If you used to play for the green and gold in the past please do send me pics of your playing days and your memories of days at Barnes Rugby Club and I will share your stories!
