On Saturday 21st Marc h we have again invited the wonderful charity Rugby Against Cancer to Barnes all day and what a day it promises to be!
Starting with the Minis training in the morning, progressing to the lunch before the big Men's 1st XV league game against Bury St Edmunds, and then during the match itself, Barnes Rugby is pulling together to raise funds for this dreadful disease, which affects 1 in 2 people in their lifetimes.
Last year we collected together over £3500 for Rugby Against Cancer, a charity that helps both patients and relatives on their cancer journeys. They are a small but perfectly formed charity who we know already make the difference to the lives of many.
Barnes Rugby Club has lost a host of legends over the years to cancer, and there are several of our Barnes Rugby friends who are currently battling it.
In a time of hardship, and awful conflict, our lives are full of worry and fear so we do hope you will find it in your heart to donate and support this amazing cause with a few bob - here is the link, you know what to do: BarnowandRAC
As someone who has battled cancer myself, I would like to say on behalf of all of those you know who have either passed away, or remain fighting defiantly, a massive thank you in anticipation of your support - and if you can get down and support the day on Saturday it will be incredibly appreciated - the Minis kick off at 9am, lunch in the clubhouse is at 1pm, and the big Barnes Men's 1st XV vs Bury game is at 3pm at Barn Elms.
Please come down and support the day whenever, and however you are able.
