With the pitch passing inspection this week we can now focus on Saturday and the game ahead for our Men's 1st XV as they kick off their season sat Barn Elms against newly promoted Colchester.

This will be by no means an easy opener for us and new skipper Angus Farqhar and his charges will need to be fully on it to ensure we get off to winning ways as we know that the nuggety from Essex will be out to record an early victory as they start life in Nat 2.

Director of Rugby, Jack Heald, comments: "The Coaches and I are really pleased with how the lads have trained and how pre-season has gone generally. There is fierce competition across the entire 1st XV squad and that is really exciting, we can't wait for the real rugby to start this weekend".

The game kicks off at 3pm at Barn Elms, a reminder that dogs and alcohol are not allowed to be taken in the grounds please.
