Barnes 1st team and their supporters have very little travelling to do in the early weeks of the new season. Only 1 away game at Barking after 3 pre-season warm-ups at home then 3 home / local and 2 more home fixtures after the first away game. Barking RFC is less than 20 miles from Barnes - straight across London but getting there through traffic on a Saturday takes time. Supporters should let the train take the strain and will then be able to drink more beer than driving allows. Their club is a 1/2 mile walk from Becontree station, which is 60 minutes from Hammersmith or 75 minutes (max.) from Barnes Railway station (via Waterloo then 1/2 an hour on the tube).
