However I was delighted to get back into the game last season which I thoroughly enjoyed and to be asked to be Captain for this season is an honour. However, I have found that in order to play regularly now, I have to work much harder at the game and my fitness than I used too. Yes, it’s old age creeping up on me, but I have to be careful with what I eat and drink, I go the gym twice a week and I play touch rugby on Tuesday night And so for this season I am going to commit to as many games as my body will allow; I will turn up on time and play the best I can; and I will always stay for a couple of drinks afterwards. If everyone can do the same then we will have a great group of players, which with a reduced number of league games, I really think we can at least match last season’s result. I would very much like all wives, girlfriends and kids to come along and join in too and I hope that everyone enjoys the season !!.
