Love in the air.......

Just a quick one today as Skips is obviously on Romantic duties and that is a full time job!
Though in true style the weekend started with me washing my muddy balls in the kitchen sink as I never managed to clean them last week. Had Mrs Skips caught me at 06:30 on Saturday washing said balls in 'her' pristine sink, she would be sure to hack one of my own off......with a nail file!!
Fortunately though I managed to complete the task and safely make my way to Barnes RFC for sanctuary!

Still carrying injuries and wannabe snow borders unavailable for selection, we managed to pull a side together to take on an equally nimble Harlequins Vets in a key league fixture. The referee was by far the best we have ever had this season and had every intention of making sure we didn't forget that and so we kicked off on time in pretty foul muddy grey conditions!

The game was pretty much an arm wrestle with Quins putting their larger pack to good effect and forcing us to work hard in defence. Scrums were scrappy and the lineout for both sides was near pointless as neither side could cope with the wind and the ref had a tolerance factor of nil!

However, Harrodians prevailed and despite a hail storm of adversities, some of our own doing, we managed to pull ourselves together and overcome a strong spirited side.
A quick mention to our Man of the Match, JC, who had a great game and had over come the impossible by earlier dropping his family at Heathrow only to join them straight after playing.....cheers JC......great spirit!

A few beers and fantastic Zoe Curry set us up nicely for more 6 Nations and more......
Next weeks match report will be longer......I'm sure!
