Good luck from Barnes Rugby to paralympian Hannah Russell
The London 2012 Paralympics start today and we support Hannah who is the daughter of very proud dad, and old friend of Barnes Rugby, Carson Russell.
Hannah, who has just celebrated her 16th birthday, is representing Great Britian in the London 2012 Paralympics.
She is in the following swimming events under the classification S12 (visual imparement).
Women's 100m Freestyle - S12
Women's 400m Freestyle - S12
Women's 100m Butterfly - S12
Women's 100m Backstroke - S12
Women's 50m Freestyle - S12

.....straight out of the starting gate and Hannah got Silver in the 400m Free' - loads of TV coverage and Carson even got a mention in last night's Standard
Hannah has a won Silver in the 400m freestyle and 100m bronze in the butterfly. A wonderful achievement already, we all hope there is more to come.
Hannah Russell qualified for the 100m Freestyle today as the fast qualifier! She races in the final tonight for he 3rd medal and we all hope its Gold this time. Good Luck Hannah
More on Hannah's results, she made the final of the 100m Freestyle on Tuesday, but sadly missed a medal and finished 6th. She didnt let that result get her down and on Wednesday 5th September Hannah collected her third medal of the game, finishing 3rd in the 100m Backstroke to earn a well deserved Bronze.
Lets hope that Hannah makes the final of the 50m Freestyle tomorrow night at 7.40pm tomorrow night (Friday 7th September).

TWO BRONZE AND A SILVER MEDAL for Hannah Russell aged 16 years in the Swimming at the Paraolympics. Hannah is daughter of Carson Russell our old Director of Rugby. CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE.
