With a free weekend last weekend nearly 300 players and supporters we all able to enjoy to the maxx the Barnes City Lunch, again at the Montcalm in London’s West End.
The proceedings were masterfully directed by the legendary comedian that is Barry Williams which allowed our VIP guest speakers, All Black Captain Sean Fitzpatrick and star of stage, screen and the England Rugby Team, Martin Bayfield, the platform to beguile us all with their rugby stories.
Fitzy stories of how he rose from the lowest team at the Sacred Heart school in Auckland to become the most capped Captain of the All Blacks along the way was extraordinary and Martin Bayfield must now be the best and funniest raconteur on the rugby circuit.
We also managed to raise well over £30,000 for the club, thanks to the astonishing auctioneering performance of Kenny "Lovejoy" Worrall, ably supported by Camilla Campbell-Stanway and Maxi-Scibor-Rylska.
Fitzy even got us all up to perform the haka with him and you can see the video here with our own junior All Black Martin Conway leading the way!
