Barnes !st XV Captain for the 2011/2012 Season  - Gary Holmes

How pleasing it was to see Barnes bounce back to National League 2 South last year. In what proved to be a very tough league, the consistency we showed throughout the year lifted us to the top of the table and helped us gain promotion to where we feel we rightly belong. This season we will be hoping to build on all we achieved last year and maintain our position in N2S

Unfortunately we have had to say goodbye to several guys who played key parts in our successful campaign last year, but they all leave with our best wishes for the future. The coaching team have once again been working hard to strengthen the squad and have put us through our paces during pre-season as we try to integrate new arrivals and prepare for the upcoming challenge. It’s pleasing to see guys wanting to join Barnes and I’m sure our fans will be pleased with the quality of the squad Carson has assembled.

As a group of players, we felt we learnt some pretty hard lessons from our time at this level two years ago, and we are confident that we can use these lessons to establish ourselves in N2S and give the Barnes faithful plenty to cheer about
