I have just had confirmation of our guest speaker for next year’s Barnes City Lunch and I am delighted to confirm that we have Sir Gareth Edwards attending. As with Willie John a couple of years back, Sir Gareth does very few of these type of events and we are again indebted to Barry Williams for his skill and guile (and probably draw full of compromising photos ).

We already have 32 tables committed out of a maximum of 35 so if you haven’t you better get a wiggle on, and if you have, expect an invoice soon.

For those of you who have committed expect an email from me shortly about coughing up.

If you are ready to cough up already then tables of 10 are £1100, £1000 if paid by 31st December 2016. If you want to have 11 or 12 that is ok as long as I know by 31st December. Capiche?

PS - this is the email I sent to you in June:

So I know this is a very early heads up but as we now have the fixture list for next season I can tell you that the Barnes RFC City Lunch will be on Friday March 17th in a new central London location, which is just being finalised.

A few facts to note:

• MIPIM – the property sector jolly, sorry hard-working 3 day gig, is 14th -17th March.. after two days on the p% ssany of you going will need a break and the BRFC City Lunch provides that respite in abundance! 
• Cheltenham looks like is it the same dates so the same applies, do the first two days and come back to London for the 17th
• The last day of the Six Nations is the next day with England travelling to Dublin, Scotland entertain Italy whilst France play Wales at the Stade de France
• It’s St Patrick’s Day…AND…..the most important fact…the new hotel will allow us to bring our own beer bar in and not charge us corkage!

Now you know what excuses you don’t need to use all you need to do is say “yes Michael I would like (insert number of tables required) tables for next year’s Barnes RFC City Lunch and I have already put it in my diary”

The price will be the same as last year… £1000 for a table of 10 if booked and paid for by 31st December 2016 – same price as the last 5 years… £1100 if paid in 2017 with individual tickets being £110 if not part of a table.

Speakers are being sorted but I can tell you that you will not be disappointed!
