Hello from the Ladies of Barnes RFC!

Following a really successful season last year, Barnes Ladies are looking forward to a great season ahead in 2011/12 NC South East West 2 League. We are a great bunch of girls from all walks of life who enjoy playing the game of rugby, keeping fit and having some fun. Being friends off the pitch, it makes us a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field! I am honoured and privileged to lead a fabulous bunch of girls who really give it their all every season

The ladies team are in their 8th year in operation, so we certainly have a firm established presence in the club. It is through the dedication of many ladies that have been apart of our team over the years which allows us to be so strong today

We are always looking for new players from all different skill levels. If you are interested in taking your rugby skills to a new level, keeping fit or even just making a new set of friends in a fun and active environment, then come down to one of our training sessions which take place every Tuesday night at Barn Elms from 7.30- 9.00pm

We are known (or should that be infamous) as being one of the more social teams in the club. We have a full social diary this year for the team. Recent events include anything from amusement parks, city nights out, weekends away, roller-blading, theatre, pub-golf and watching rugby events. Internationally we are respected for our annual tours. We have been superhero's in sunny Spain, Olympians in fiery France, 'Little Miss' characters in jumping Jersey, painted the town blue as Smurfs in dirty Dublin and most recently rocked the core of pretty Portugal as the Spice Girls

In my opinion, this is a rugby club that is deserving of its status as one of the leading clubs in the region. It is the time and commitment given by so many within the club that creates the success upon which Barnes RFC is based. On behalf of the Ladies team, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Barnes first XV and all other teams within the club the best of luck in their 2011/12 season

We look forward to seeing you around the club this year but in the meantime if you are thinking of coming down to training, you will be welcome with open arms
